Class 10 Students Will Have Two Board Exams in 2027: What Parents Need to Know

From 2027, Class 10 students will have two Board Examination opportunities. However, there are a few important rules that students and parents need to understand.

The First Board Examination Is Mandatory

The first Board Examination, scheduled from February, is mandatory for all Class 10 students. Students cannot simply choose to appear for either of the two examinations.

What Is the Second Board Examination For?

Eligible students can use the second Board Examination to improve their performance in up to three main subjects.

It also provides another opportunity for students who are placed in the compartment category after the first examination.

Can Students Change Their Subjects?

No.

Students cannot change their subjects between the first and second Board Examinations. The subjects submitted in the List of Candidates (LOC) will remain the same for both examinations.
